WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW BCC STARS
BCC is currently looking for new stars to join our small administration team at the College. Before advertising in the mainstream media we thought it may be a good idea to announce this news on our web site where our supporters frequently visit us.
We are looking for a special person who enjoys meeting a wide variety of people to undertake a liaison role with community organisations and industry. This is a part-time role, working two days a fortnight across the Canterbury-Bankstown local government areas. Demonstrated experience in the VET industry and business development skills and experience are required although candidates with teaching, marketing or community engagement qualifications and experience are also welcome to apply.

Funded Dual-Qualification Course - Children's Services and English
BCC is offering a funded Dual-Qualification Course, which includes CHC30708 Certificate III in Children's Services and 91423NSW Certificate III in Spoken and Written English, for only $99!
This dual-qualification course, which commences this February, is intended for people who wish to enter the labour market but are having difficulty gaining employment due to low literacy in English and/or lack of a VET Qualification. The Children’s Services industry is currently offering plenty of work opportunities for qualified trainers.
By the end of this 15-week course, you will be eligible to receive two nationally accredited Qualifications at the Certificate III level.

CHRISTMAS & SUMMER
Season's Greetings to everyone.
I would like to thank all our students, our staff, College Council members and our contractors for their support of the College throughout 2012. We wish health and happiness to all.
We will be closing on December 21 for our summer holidays and will be back on January 7. Online enrolments will still be available 24/7 throughout the festive season shutdown period. Confirmations will be sent upon our return on January 7.
TERM 1, 2013 begins on February 4.
English assessments will be available from January 14.
Applications will continue to be taken for our funded dual course qualification, Certificate III in Children's Services/ Certificate III in Spoken and Written English until February 10, 2013.

TERM FOUR COMMENCES OCTOBER 15
Term 4 commences today.
You can still enrol in most courses starting this week. The College has extended its office opening hours for this week to assist clients with enrolment. From Monday October 15 to Friday October 19 the College office will be open from 8:00 am right through to 7:00 pm each night.
Online enrolment is available 24 hours a day.

For close to two decades, Bankstown Community Coillege has been successfully providing training to the local community and to industry. The College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Some of the nationally-recognised qualifications on our ASQA Scope of Registration include Business qualifications (Certificate I to Certificate IV), Children's Services, IT and English language.
Currently, the College is planning for 2013 course delivery and we would welcome businesses and industry groups to provide us with feedback on our courses and their training needs for 2013. This consultation would allow the College to conduct its planning so that in-demand courses are scheduled to meet the training needs of the business community.

FAST-TRACK YOUR CAREER:CERTIFICATE III IN CHILDREN'S SERVICES FOR EXISTING CHILDCARE WORKERS
BCC has just announced a new fast-track course for existing childcare workers. If you are currently working in the childcare industry (home care or centre-based) and you do not hold an appropriate qualification, BCC can help you to gain the Certificate III in Children's Services - this is the minimum qualification required by federal authorities - in just 10 weeks.
Classes will be held at the College on Friday afternoons, commencing September 28. For enrolment and eligiblity inquiries please call the College on 9793 8155.
